The Difference Between Japanese Straightening And Keratin Straightening Treatments By Hair Salon Hamilton Call Us On 02 4961 2822
Most salons, like ours, have opted out of the Japanese straightening system. While this system does completely straighten your hair, it is highly carcinogenic, and it also completely melts your hair! Yes, you read correctly. The Japanese straightening system melts your hair and re-forms it.
So, in an instant the health of your hair is gone. You can see why we don’t use this system. Between the carcinogenic exposure and the destruction of healthy hair, it goes against your best interests and ours!
Instead, we’ve opted for the safest and most advanced straightening method. With this formulation, carcinogenic exposure is minimal. As we told you in the last article, you’re likely to get more formaldehyde exposure with acrylic nails than with our keratin straightening system.
A keratin straightening treatment doesn’t completely straighten your hair, but it comes pretty darn close. Hair still has plenty of volume and body and can still be worn curly or wavy, if you want.
For example, if you decide to air dry your hair, you will get a nice beachy wave, but with no frizz. Of course, you can always blow dry your hair straight in the fraction of the time you’re used to.
There are just so many more options without the health risk.
